Alma
Duran
Oct 21, 1955 — May 8, 2022
Galveston
On Sunday, May 8, 2022, God whispered softly to Alma Duran and told her to come home. Her work on this earth was complete.
Alma was born October 21, 1955, in Galveston Texas where she lived her entire life. She was a very caring, loving, and genuine person with a generous heart of gold, that never hesitated to help people out. Because of her caring heart, everyone adored her. Alma took care of everyone. She had the uncanny ability to know when someone was in need. Every time she would go to the store, she would buy something for someone other than herself. Whether it was a picture frame, rug, or a shirt, she always had others in mind. Alma always gave more than she took from this life.
In her spare time, she loved being around family and visiting her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren (Chi-Chi and Mari) whom she got to spend a lot of time before her passing.
Preceding her in death are her sons Michael Pelaez Sr., and Emilio Duran Jr.; parents Amador Suniga and Stella Gutierrez; sister Blanca De Los Santos, and brother Ruben Villarreal.
She is survived by her daughter Lynette Morales Robinson (Tristan) grandchildren Danny Morales Tamez, Trinity Yvette Robinson, Tristan Michael Robinson , Michael Pelaez Jr., Indio Pelaez (Dejia), India Pelaez (Lavelle), and Myonique Pelaez (Gerald); great-grandchildren Alani, and I'Marie also Their grandmother Raquel Gasaway . Siblings Rolando Suniga, Josephine Godoy, Javier Jaubert Torres (Elena), Julio Arturo Jaubert Torres (Nancy), Julia Torres (Davi) and Lorena Torres.
The family would like to give special thanks to Emilio Duran Sr. and Devoted Brother Rolando Suniga for helping take great care of our mother with such love and concern. Our family is eternally grateful to you.
A memorial service will be held 12:00 noon Saturday May 14, 2022 at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home with Lupito Betancourt officiating. Visitation will begin at 11:30am.
