With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Anthony Wayne Young, a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, who passed away on July 3, 2025. A lifelong resident of Galveston Island, Anthony touched many lives with his joyful spirit, warm smile, and kind heart.

Born on October 26, 1956, Anthony was the loving son of the late Betty Louis Young, to whom he remained devoted throughout his life.

Anthony was known throughout the community for his friendly nature and uplifting presence. He enjoyed life's simple pleasures—grabbing a meal at Golden Corral, eating at The Spot, stopping by Moody Bank, or running errands at Home Depot and Kroger. These everyday places weren't just routines for him—they were part of his connection to the community he loved.

He is survived by his loving sons, Eric Gomez, Roman Young and Julian Young; his treasured grandchildren: Lalani Gomez, Sata Gomez, Daviana Gomez, Kassidy Tinoco; and his great-grandchildren, Alora Lee Tinoco.

Anthony also leaves behind his devoted siblings: Dalton Young of Fayetteville, NC; Jean Guarnaccia of Grovetown, GA; and Edna Colon of Colorado. He will be dearly missed by all of them, along with many extended family members and friends who loved him like family.

Anthony had a natural gift for making people smile and feel appreciated. Whether you knew him for years or met him just once, his warmth left a lasting impression.
