Galveston – Arnold Noel Jones, age 69, went peacefully into the arms of his Creator at 12:34 pm on July 12, 2020. The body was cremated and Arnold's ashes will be buried in the Field of Honor at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Sherman, Texas. David Jones, brother-in-law, will officiate the graveside service which is limited to immediate family members.

Arnold was born in Chelsea, Massachusetts, on October 31, 1950 to Noel G. Jones and Margaret A. Jones. He graduated from Denison High School, Denison, Texas in 1969 and he graduated from Grayson County College, Denison, Texas with his nursing degree in 1974. During the period between high school and college, Arnold served as a E3 Hospital Corpsman in the United States Navy. Arnold and Rosemarie Valdez were married on March 23, 2000 at University Baptist Church in Galveston, Texas.

Survivors include his wife, Rosemarie (Ging) Jones, Megan Noel Jones, daughter, Geoffrey Wingfield (Karleen), step-son, sisters Patricia Stanford (Bill), Caddo, Oklahoma, Peggy Jones (David), Joplin, Missouri, Pamela Beckham and Penny Vest (John), both of Denison, Texas, eight nieces and nephews, and twelve great nieces and nephews. Arnold is also survived by their two cats, Max and Voight.

Arnold worked as a Registered Nurse at University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston in the Medical Intensive Care and Cardiac Care Unit, the Emergency Department and the Electrophysiology Lab. Arnold also worked at the Memorial Hermann Hospital, Houston, Texas, as an Education Research Specialist and at the Emergency Department at St. John Hospital, Nassau Bay, Texas and Mainland Hospital, Texas City, Texas. After a long and varied career, Arnold retired from nursing in 2014 and taught electrocardiography (EKG) part-time at Galveston College from 2017 - 2019. He was very passionate about the "Heart" and teaching. He shared his knowledge and expertise unselfishly with physicians, co-nurses, and students.

Arnold was a member of Coastal Community Church, Galveston, Texas. He served in the music ministry, running the video presentations during the Sunday morning services. He also served on the church's advisory board.

Arnold enjoyed working crossword puzzles while sipping on his morning coffee and watching FOX news. He also loved to watch Law &
Order reruns and looked forward to September when football seasons began so he could watch his favorite team the Dallas Cowboys. He enjoyed traveling and was an excellent cook. His family and friends will miss his sense of humor and colorful personality.

Arnold's family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Celyne Bueno-Hume and the medical, nursing and auxiliary staff of MD Anderson Cancer Center for the exemplary and compassionate care Arnold received during his illness. They would also like to thank Tricia Kinnard, Director, Stacy Smith, RN, and Joy Wells, of Anchor Hospice of Houston, Texas.

A memorial service to celebrate Arnold's life will be held in Galveston, Texas at a later date.
