IN REMEMBRANCE OF

ARTHUR JACKSON RICHMOND

Memorial services are 10:00am Saturday March 4, 2023, at Wesley Tabernacle UMC. He will be laid to rest at 11:15am Monday March 6, 2023 with Military Honors at Houston National Cemetery.

His journey began on March 10 ^th , 1953, in Galveston, Texas. A beautiful baby boy was born to the late Louis Will Carper and the late Josephine Marie Richmond Moss. Both of whom have proceeded him in death and a very special Dad, the late Floyd Moss.

Arthur Jackson Richmond, known to some as "Arthur Lee" and known to others as "Doc", peacefully transitioned from this earthly body to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 16 ^th , 2023, at his sister's home in Galveston, Texas.

Arthur was raised in Galveston, Texas and attended elementary school, jr. high school and a graduated of Ball High School…Class of 1971. Arthur graduated from Galveston College where he received a Nursing Degree as an LVN.  Several years later, Arthur received his RN Degree and worked as a RN Nurse for over 35 years in different areas hospital and with private nursing agencies. Arthur loved his job, and he loved helping people get better.  Arthur Jackson Richmond retired from Nursing in 2016 and decided to dedicate the rest of his life helping people and serving the Lord.

Arthur was born, baptized, and a lifetime member of Wesley Tabernacle United Methodist Church. He loved the Lord and worked in the church faithfully.  He was one of the original acolytes, member of the Methodist Men, participated in the Men Chorus, Trustee, Stewart, and a Cook for the Saturday morning Breakfast Program until his health began to fail him. Arthur was recognized as "Father of The Year" by Wesley Church.  Arthur Jackson Richmond truly demonstrated how to be a good steward by serving the Lord with a humble and cheerful heart…willing to help others who are in need. Arthur showed his love by his actions.  Whatever Arthur can do for you; he would do it with a willing heart and without complaining.

Arthur joined the military during the Vietnam War and earned higher ranks as an SP 4 in the United State Army for over four years and received an "Honorable Discharge".

Arthur was a family man that believed in keeping family structure together.  He was a strong-willed, warm loving and loyal individual to his church, his family, and friends.  He loved all Sports and had a strong opinion about how each team played on TV as if he was the Head Coach.  He loved those Lakers, Seahawks, and now Kanas City Chiefs.

Arthur was an overprotective Big Brother, a devoted Father and GP, who loved his children, grandchildren, family members, and friends with all his heart.  Family was very important to him, and he loved visiting with his loved ones just to see how they were doing or if they needed anything. When his children would call and tell him about one of the Grandchildren playing sports, graduating, in a school or church play, or getting baptized at church, "GP" as known by all the Grandchildren, would show up to support them.  Arthur Jackson Richmond was a Godly man who put his faith trust and hope in the Word of God.  A man after God's own heart.

Arthur Jackson Richmond leaves to cherish his memories; four sons, Arthur J. Richmond, Jr (Lisa) of Sugarland, TX, Akeem Richmond (Amanda) of Savana, GA, Alex J. Franklin (Jerica) of Friendswood, TX, Jerome Franklin of Galveston, TX, and two daughters, Alesia West of Rosenberg, TX, and Krystal Brewer of Beaumont, TX; five sisters, Tina Moss-Suell (Elroy) of Galveston, TX, Jerri Lynn Moss-Burns (Samuel) of Houston, TX, DeAngela Moss of Spring, TX, Marenthia Moss of Spring, TX, and Loretha Johnson (Wayne) of Galveston, TX; one Brother, Floyd Anthony Moss of Los Angeles, CA,  18 Grandchildren…Darion, Treylon preceded in death, Dominique, Sebastian, Kennedy, Christopher (Anna), Jordan, Alexia, MiKayla, Carter, Alex JD, Je'Marion, Jaydyn, Jordyn, Amiya, Deryus, Adrian, Kesmond, Irelyn, Krourtlyn; 2 Great-grandchildren…Anilya and Deryus Jr.; 4 Aunts;  Yvonne Colbert of Texas City, TX, Cynithia Horton of Galveston, TX, Pearlie Turner of Benton, LA, and Ann Thompson (George) of Gulfport, MS; 4 Uncles; Melc Williams (Betty) of Houston, TX, Joseph Alexander of Los Angeles, CA, Willie Carper(Carolyn), and Joe Carper (Mary) both of Plain Dealing, LA; a host of Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins.  Very special people that was dear to Arthur's heart…Pastor William Sowell, Wendy Langham, Beverly Jackson-Brown, Willa Richmond, Rosie Richmond, Idella Duncan, Raymond Turner, Gwen Franklin, Anna Beasley, and Kim Singleton.
