Bessie Lee James , 78, of Galveston, fell asleep in death on Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at her home.

Bessie was born on March 7, 1942 in Galveston to Cornelius and Mary Beldon. Bessie graduated from Central High School, class of 1960.   But her greatest joy is when she learned about her Creator, Jehovah God. Bessie was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses for almost 45 years and she was a regular pioneer for 37 years in the Galveston Congregation. During those years, she has taught many about God's Word, the Bible. Bessie enjoyed the public ministry and on many occasions you would find her sharing Bible truth with others on 39 ^th and M.

Bessie is preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Dorothy Mae Beldon and Mary Lee Beldon.

Bessie is survived by her devoted husband of 54 years, Charles L. James. Their six children, Robert L. James, Charles E. James, Charlene L. James, Ronnie L. James, Joseph K. James and Deborah A. James-Williams, 14 grandchildren, many great grandchildren along with a host of nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.
