Bill Perry Taylor III, age 76, passed away in Galveston, Texas on Thursday, June 29, 2023.

He was born in Houston, Texas, and grew up in the Heights. Bill graduated from Reagan High School and the University of Houston. He started working as a teacher and football coach and eventually had a long, successful career in medical sales.

Bill was married to his wife, Becky Taylor, for twenty-eight years. Whether traveling to places all over the world, spending time with their many friends, or enjoying the gulf breeze on their deck swing, they loved being together and living life to the fullest.

He was a loving father to his children Jackie Taylor Kleihege and husband Mike, John Taylor and wife Pepper, and stepson Ryan Tidwell and wife Courtney.

His grandchildren were the light of his life and his biggest pride and joy - Levi Taylor, Ella Taylor, Macy Kleihege, Sadie Kleihege, and Will Kleihege. Bill had a multitude of pictures of them on his phone and was ready to show them off at a moment's notice. Even the waitress at his favorite Mexican restaurant could be assured to see the latest pictures of his grandchildren.

Everyone who knew Bill loved him! He never met a stranger and made friends wherever he went. You would find him most times in a Hawaiian shirt from his large collection, the brighter the better. Bill loved the gamble of video poker, usually won, and was happy to share his strategies with those alongside him.

Years living in the Galveston area and spending time with his dad and grandfather instilled in Bill a love of fishing and boat rides in the bay. He then passed on that legacy, teaching his children and grandchildren to drive a boat and bait a hook. Everyone who spent time at his and Becky's home enjoyed fishing for speckled trout and redfish, kayaking, or participating in the many events happening on Tiki Island. He genuinely loved being with his family and friends, and his gift was bringing laughter and fun everywhere he went.

He is preceded in death by his parents Bill Perry Taylor, Jr. and Margaret Ellen Taylor, and cousin Ralph Taylor. He is survived by his sister Ellen Jones and brother Mark Taylor, and wife Kelli, as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Tiki Island Chapel on Saturday, July 15, 2023, at 10 am with a Celebration of Life starting at 11 am.
