Bryan Lee Stokes, age 61, of Tiki Island, died Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at Jennie Sealy Hospital in Galveston. Memorial services are at 4:00 pm Friday, October 22, 2021, at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home in Galveston, with visitation at 3:00 pm.

Bryan was born August 4, 1960, in Houston, Texas, to Bobby Leonard Stokes and Connie Mae Polk Stokes. Bryan attended Sam Houston State University and was a member of the SSI fraternity. He had a true passion for investments, finance, and banking. Bryan was a successful real estate investor in the greater Houston area and the owner and operator of Stokes Hardware & Supply Co. at 3719 Irvington Blvd Houston, Texas 77009, a business that has been in his family for 65 years.  He and his wife Rebecca were Foundry United Methodist Church members in Houston until moving to Tiki Island. Bryan was a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend to many. He enjoyed hunting and fishing; he loved the water and excelled at water skiing and scuba diving. Bryan was a true outdoorsman. On any given day, you could find him sitting on his outdoor patio. Bryan loved to travel, dance and was recognized as the life of any gathering, particularly by his Mardi Gras "ZKrewe." He was always full of life and now gone from us too soon. We will continue to love him dearly while missing him greatly.

Bryan is preceded in death by his brother Russell Damon Stokes and his parents Bobby and Connie Stokes. Survivors include his loving wife Rebecca Karen Landers Stokes of Tiki Island; daughters Kirsten Stokes DeRostaing and husband Alex DeRostaing of Tiki Island and Rebecca Amber Zalomski and husband Capt Zachary Zalomski, U.S. Air Force of Fairbanks, Alaska; brother Phillip Daniel Stokes and wife Julianne of Montgomery, Texas; numerous other relatives and many friends and loyal customers over 65 years.
