Charles H. Addison went unexpectedly to the Lord on September 2, 2026. He was born on April 11, 1941, in the rolling eastern hills of Oklahoma where he lived during his early childhood. Moving to Oklahoma City during his high school years he graduated from Capitol Hill High School, enlisted in the Air Force, and then returned to the University of Oklahoma where he received his college degree. He began his computing career with Southwestern Bell in Oklahoma City and then with the University of Oklahoma where he was Asst. Director of the Merrick Computing Center. He accepted a job with American National Insurance Company in 1972 and after 35 years retired as Sr. Vice President of Systems Planning and Computing. He was fond of saying, “Always do something that you love. I never had a day I did not look forward to going to work.

”Known to his friends as “Chuck” he married Margaret Ann Barbee in 1970. Their strong bond of love and devotion to each other lasted 56 years. Remaining strong and active up to the time of his death, they shared many happy times in their retirement years, traveling, gardening, volunteering, and enjoying their family. They maintain many dear friends after years of Sunday School activity at Moody Memorial Methodist Church.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Mable and Cecil Addison and a sister and two brothers. He is survived by his wife, Margaret; his daughters Lynne Webb, and children, Kaylan and Sean; and Lisa Cox and her husband, Phil, and children, Kennedy and Mitchell; his sons, Garrik Addison and his wife, Laura (Parks) and children, Spencer and Ryder; and Brene Addison and his wife, Kristy (Choate) and children, Luke and Blake; three great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday September 12, 2026, at Moody Memorial Methodist Church in Galveston.

Chuck’s life was a joy to his friends and family, who cherish their time with him and will always honor his memory.
