Yesterday (Sunday) at 10:50am, our sweet dad unexpectedly left this world and moved on to the next. While we are heartbroken, we know he is healed, whole, and forever with us. There will never be enough words to express the tremendous hole now felt in our family, but we also find ourselves feeling extremely lucky and thankful to have experienced the love of Dad, as I know everyone who knew him feels the same. He would give the shirt off of his back before being asked, even if it was just a raggedy Hawaiian shirt. Thank you everyone for the kind words, acts, and love we have received throughout this month and past few days. Our family is forever grateful.

Charles Franklin Fenoglio, lovingly known as "Chip" of Galveston, Texas passed from this life on February 1, 2026 in Houston, Texas. He was a son, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was loved more than words could ever describe and leaves behind countless memories and a legacy of kindness and commitment that will continue to be evident long after his time here on Earth.

Born on February 7, 1956, in Blackwell, Oklahoma, Chip was the son of Charles and Wanda Fenoglio. He was born into a large family and was the baby brother that made their home complete. He spent the majority of his childhood on the shores of Port Lavaca, and eventually relocated to Dayton, Texas where he finished and graduated high school.

Chip spent the majority of his life working in the construction and industrial business, where he was able to work his way up from a pipefitters apprentice to running his very own industrial division of a historic Houston construction company, ending his career at Tellepsen Industrial. While Chip was "the boss", it was clear he loved and cared for his work family. He made a point to ensure everyone felt empowered and important to the company and actively promoted a family-centered focus within the office. His career also provided the opportunity to travel quite frequently, his favorite job location being on the beautiful island of Aruba.

Chip spent his later years enjoying retirement and building a new life with Heidi here in Galveston. He found new ways to serve the community and made life-long friends along the way. Chip was extremely devoted to his church where he served as the treasurer and operated the sound and video every Sunday for the congregation. As for community work, Chip found a passion working with the homeless and incarcerated Galveston populations and was devoted to spreading the word of God with all of those he encountered. In his spare time, he loved to play golf with his friends and family or start a new home project.

Above all, Chip loved his family with everything that he had. Those left behind to carry on his legacy include his loving wife of 24 years, Heidi. His children Matt (wife Alicia), Mandy (husband Danny), Amber (fiancé Drew), Shelbi (fiancé Crayton), Kayli (husband Corey), and Kyle (wife Zoey). His sisters Sue (husband Robert) and Sandy (husband Raymond). He is also remembered by his grandchildren Caden (fiancé Alexis), Tyler (wife Destiny), Blake, Chase, Addy, and Charles. Lastly, his great-grandchildren Layla and Jaxson. Chip was happily reunited in Heaven with several loved ones who went on before him such as his parents, his older brother John Fenoglio, and countless friends from each stage of life.

A celebration of life will be held on Monday, February 9th, 2026, at 11:00am at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home 1201 Tremont Galveston, Texas. Guests are encouraged to wear casual, beachy clothes as we honor a man who spent so much time wearing just the same.
