Charner Anderson "Andy" Stevens age 68 of LaMarque was called home to be with his Lord Saturday, November 5, 2022 at HCA Mainland Medical Center Hospital in Texas City. Funeral services are 6:30pm Tuesday November 15, 2022 at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home in Galveston, Reverend Eric Hodge officiating. The family will receive visitors from 5:00pm until 8:00pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Military Honors will be rendered at 5:00pm by the U.S. Army.

Andy was born January 15, 1954 in Galveston, Texas to William Anderson Stevens and Helen Beatrice Morgan Stevens. He was a 1973 graduate of Ball High School. After high school Andy joined the U.S. Army serving his country honorably. He went on to work on the Waterfront in Galveston before owning and operating his own shrimp boat. Andy loved all sports. He was an avid fisherman and shrimper. His true love was coaching Little League Football. He was an athlete at heart and enjoyed the time he could spend with his sons and grandsons. He was a fixer and was good with his hands especially in carpentry. Andy never met a stranger and was a very social person. He was baptized at First Baptist Church in Galveston. Now in heaven with the One that first loved him.

Andy was preceded in death by his parents William Anderson Stevens and Helen Beatrice Morgan Stevens; sister Beth Laughter; brothers Luther Stevens and Mickey Stevens and a nephew Cliff Stevens. Survivors include sons Todd Stevens and wife Chelsea of Round Rock and Daniel Stevens and wife Candi of Tiki Island; grandchildren Hayden Stevens, Madalyn "Maddie" Stevens, Carter Stevens and Reid Stevens; sister Cathy Crawford and husband Joe of Dickinson; brother Bill Stevens, Sr. and wife Pam of El Paso; nieces, Melissa Duplechin and husband HCC Pct 1 Deputy Russell Duplechin of Pearland and Mary Beth Schmitz and husband Christoph of Tomball, Leah Gaughan and husband Peter; nephews, Bill Stevens, Jr. and wife Donna of Louisville, KY, Pierce Laughter of Memphis, TN, and Jeffrey Wade Branch; and mother of his children Joyce Hill.
