Chesley Wilson was born in 1937 to Mr. and Mrs. John Wilson. He recently passed away peacefully at the age of 82 in Galveston, TX.
In high school, Ches was an accomplished clarinet player and budding motorcycle aficionado. He went on to study Soil Conservation at San Angelo College (Angelo State University now) where he met his bride, Sallie. Ches was called to active duty and served his country in the Army National Guard during various crises in the 1960s.
Ches had a love for anything mechanical and was a great source for innovative and creative ideas. He enjoyed oil painting, singing in and leading church choirs, farming and ranching, sailing and traveling with his beloved wife. Ches was preceded in death by his parents and sister.
Ches is survived by his loving wife, Sallie; children, Stacy Putman (Hugh), Steve Wilson (Dollie), Joan Harmon (Darwin); Grandchildren, Trace Wilson, Katie Spence (Grant), Brooke Wilson, Andy Putman (Fiona); and, Great-grandchildren, Wyatt Spence and Silas Spence.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30am Friday, July 17, 2020 at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home in Galveston followed by burial at the Houston National Cemetery at 1:15pm.
