Obituary

Christopher went to his final resting place Friday June 19, 2026. He was hospitalized at UTMB in Galveston and passed away from an unsuccessful bout with sepsis. He was a man with a heart of gold who touched so many lives through his kindness, faith, and servant's heart. He loved deeply. He loved his family, his church, his community, and the Lord. He was incredibly proud of his daughter and his grandchildren, and he never missed an opportunity to talk about them. His love for family was evident in everything he did. He is survived by his daughter, Rachel Uriegas and four grandchildren, Abrianna, Alena, Addilyn, and Adiran III. He is also survived by his sister Judye, and brothers Maurice Jr. (Mary), Ronnie (Kelley) and Gabriel (Betty).

His faith was the foundation of who he was. Because of that faith, we have peace knowing that this is not goodbye forever. We believe he is now in the presence of the Lord he served so faithfully, reunited with those he loved and free from pain and sorrow.

He was a graduate of Ball High School. He was a member of the Monsignor Kirwin Knights of Columbus Council 787. He worked 26 years for the Galveston Independent School District as a crossing guard at Austin Elementary School and Parker Elementary. He was a man of simple joys and great loyalties. He loved wrestling, the Dallas Cowboys, UH football and basketball, and never missed a UH home game. He loved Mardi Gras and the traditions and friendships that came with it.

After his parents passed away, Chris carried their memories with him every day. He talked about them often and missed them deeply. The bond they shared never faded. While our hearts ache because we miss him, there is comfort in knowing that the reunion he longed for has finally come. Thank you, Chris, for your kindness, your laughter, your loyalty, your example of service, and your unwavering love. You were deeply loved, and you will be deeply missed. Until we meet again.
