Claude Edward Davidson, 66, of Galveston, TX, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 12, 2025, at Jennie Sealy Hospital, UTMB Medical Center. Funeral services are 1:00pm Friday, January 17, 2025 at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Calvary Cemetery 2506 65th St Galveston, Texas 77551. The family will receive visitors beginning at 10:00am Friday at the funeral home.
Claude was born in Gaffney, SC, he was the beloved husband of Raffaella Davidson and the son of the late Rev. Lawrence and Lonnie Mae Davidson. Claude graduated from Cherokee High School in Gaffney, SC, and enlisted in the U.S. Army on February 3, 1978, as a 13 Bravo. He proudly served his country for 22 years before retiring in June 2000. After his military service, he worked for Seaborne Challenge Corps in Galveston, TX, as well as for the Texas A&M Maritime Academy Corps of Cadets.
Claude was known for his determination and attention to detail. His love for God, his family and Country guided his every step. One of his favorite quotes was" If your life is based on principles, 99% of your decisions have already been made" and he lived that every day. Throughout his life, he enjoyed a wide range of activities, including traveling, taking walks with his wife and dog, reading his Bible, volunteering in the community, and cheering on his favorite football team the Kansas City Chiefs, but most of all, he cherished spending quality time with his family and grandchildren.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife, Raffaella Davidson; his daughter, Michelle Davidson; his son, Jonathan Davidson; granddaughters Brianna Murphy and Cristiana Turner; grandson Trey Murphy III; and great-granddaughter Nova Brathwaite. He is also survived by his brothers Roy Davidson, Anthony Davidson, Bryant Davidson, Calvin Davidson, and Melvin Davidson, as well as his sisters Rosa Davidson, Shirley Davidson, and Angela Houser, all of Gaffney, SC. In addition to numerous nieces and nephews. Claude will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him.
