Danny Hardung passed on Saturday, July 23, 2022, at his family's home surrounded by his loved ones.

Danny was a loving son to parents Fred and Wanda Hardung of Marion, brother to Amanda Desormeaux and husband Brian Desormeaux of Marion, father to three daughters, Amber Roberts of Brazoria, Brittany Meschede and husband James Meschede of Crosby and Pamela Hardung of Floral City, FL, and nine grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his nephew, John C. Duhon.

Danny was born in Galveston Texas on October 5, 1967, in 1976 he along with his parents and sister relocated to Smith Point, Texas where he attended school in Anahuac, Texas. His teachers and classmates describe him as kind, well mannered and incredibly intelligent.  Danny's childhood summers were spent being a deckhand on the family boats for his dad and uncle Charlie Zinante.  He would often tell of the hard work it was but what joy it brought him to learn the trade of becoming a commercial shrimper and that of working alongside his heroes. When Shrimping wasn't quite fulfilling him, the gulf took him to deeper waters to Tuna Fish.  His love of the Gulf was unmatched, and he would speak about his time on the water often and with great detail.

Danny fought his illness to his last breath, he exemplified mental and physical strength to the very end.  He is deeply missed, and memories will forever be cherished.  Be at peace, be at rest, Danny Boy.

A memorial service will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Saturday, August 6, 2022, at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home in Galveston Texas.
