Daren Ernest Allen, the son of Melvin and Rosa Allen, was born December 9th,1957, in Galveston, Texas. Daren was educated in Galveston public schools and entered the work force at a very early age. His bright smile and his eagerness to help others led him to the area of hospitality.  Later in life he enjoyed working as a bar tender at PJ's and other local venues.

In his leisure time Daren enjoyed playing dominoes, watching TV, listening to old school music, but his main interest was high lighting the history and fame of the Dallas Cowboys.

Daren's greatest love was to his family shown by his willingness to help whenever he could. His extended care and love for his mother was unquestionable, and they could be seen everywhere together.

Daren departed this life on July 30th, 2026, after a illness with cancer. Daren you will truly be missed.

Daren is survived by his mother Rosa Allen, brother Melvin Thompson, Niece Pamela Dagnolo, and her children, nephew Sheldon Thompson, and his children and a host of family and friends.

Memorial services are 11:00am Thursday, August 13, 2026, at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home in Galveston.
