David Alan Alquest

David Alan Alquest age 85 of Galveston passed away peacefully Saturday, June 27, 2026, at his residence.

David was born in Kansas City, Missouri, on November 21, 1940, and spent most of his formative years in Winfield, Kansas. Later in life, he resided in Wichita, Kansas; Melbourne, Australia; Houston, Texas; and spent his final years on Galveston Island.

David was a high school English teacher. He taught at Box Hill High School near Melbourne, Australia, and spent most of his career at Pasadena High School in Pasadena, Texas. During his retirement, he devoted himself to community service, volunteering actively in both Houston and Galveston.

A celebration of David's life will be held 1:00 p.m. Sunday, July 5, 2026, at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home.
