GALVESTON   David Richard Kaplan age 61 of Galveston went to his rest Monday, February 28, 2022, at his residence in Galveston. A graveside service will be held at 2:30 pm Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at Congregation Beth Jacob Cemetery in Galveston under the direction of Carnes Brothers Funeral Home.

Born March 29, 1960 in Galveston, Texas to Sol and Esther Habib Kaplan, David was loved by his family and all that worked with and knew him. He was a 1978 graduate of Ball High School and was employed as a Deputy District Clerk with Galveston County for many years. He was a musical genius who brought much joy to so many people with his gift of music that will never be forgotten. David was a lifelong member of Congregation Beth Jacob and a devoted son.

Preceded in death by his parents, aunts, Esther Kaplan Geller and Rose Kaplan Berman; uncles, Elias Kaplan and Isaac D. Kaplan; survivors include his cousins Frank Kaplan and wife Arriene and daughter, Rachel Sara Kaplan all of Galveston, Leon Kaplan of Galveston, Carol and Sidney Rosen of Torrance, California; numerous other relatives and friends.
