Obituary

Diahana Mims-Price was born on July 7, 1975, in Galveston, Texas, to the late Charles M. Mims Sr. and Delores Mitchell Mims. She was educated in both the Galveston and Austin Independent School Districts before embarking on a diverse and impressive career path.

Diahana dedicated 14 years to the State of Texas, working as a fingerprint examiner. She later pursued her passion for healthcare by completing a nursing program, scoring in the top 6% nationally on her certification exam. Continuing her love for science, she became a certified phlebotomist. Eventually, she transitioned into a new field and served as a departmental supervisor at Dover Fueling Solutions, where she worked for 10 years until her passing.

Diahana married her husband, Eric, in 2000. They shared a love for travel and enjoyed working out together, and Diahana was an avid participant in group cycling rides with her colleagues at Dover Fueling. She had a big heart and a special love for children, often opening her home to kids and families in need to prevent them from entering the state's system. A dedicated volunteer, Diahana helped teach children to read at Blackshear Elementary School and organized an annual Christmas fundraiser to provide clothing and toys for children in need.

Diahana committed her life to Christ at an early age and deepened her walk with the Lord in 2011. Throughout her illness, she remained steadfast in her faith.

Diahana departed this life on Sunday, July 20, 2025, in Round Rock, Texas. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Mims Sr.; her mother, Delores Mitchell-Mims; her sister, Debrah Mitchell; her brother, Charles "Chuck" Mims Jr.; her uncles, Elbert Mims Sr. and Walter Mitchell Jr.; her aunt, Barbara Walker; and her cousins, Kevin Mims and Elbert Mims Jr.
