Dominga Mary Johnson "Momo", age 93 of Galveston. Was called home Wednesday October 14 th , 2020 at her residence. Funeral services are 12:00 noon Tuesday October 20 th , 2020 at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Carnes Brothers Funeral Home. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home from 5:00pm until 8:00pm on Monday October 19 th , 2020 where a rosary will be recited at 6:30pm.
Dominga was born March 6 th , 1927 in Galveston to Julio and Gregoria Garza Mancillas. She was a faithful member of St. Patrick Catholic Church.
Momo cherished being a mother, wife and home maker. She played a strong role in raising her grandchildren and helped to care for her great grandchildren during their childhood. She adored her great-great grandchild as if he were her own. She was the hierarchy of the family and taught strength, care, forgiveness and unconditional love.
Preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Harry Edward Johnson, son Edward Johnson and several sisters and brothers. She is survived by her daughter Mary Sandra Foster of Galveston; sisters Mary Cruz Smith of Santa Fe, Lenora Sanchez of Santa Fe and Linda Serrato of Galveston; granddaughters Natisha Martinez and husband David Martinez of La Marque and Lacey Foster of Dickinson; great grandchildren Jazmine Marie Martinez (Nicholas Blaine Delao), Gabriella Rene Martinez (Timothy Gilbert Bird), Elijah Edward Reyna and Gage Michael Reyna; great-great grandchild Nixon David Delao; her faithful dog Chester; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers are Elijah E. Reyna, Gage M. Reyna, David A. Martinez, Nicholas B. Delao, Timothy G. Bird, and Andrew J. Longoria.
The family would like to give recognition to her Primary Care Physician, Dr.Victor S. Sierpina for decades of care.
