Captain Donald Alexander Stahl

Captain Donald Alexander Stahl age 47 of Galveston died Sunday, April 19, 2026, at his residence in Galveston. A Celebration of life will be held from 2:00pm to 4:00pm, Sunday, May 3, 2026 at Carnes Brothers Funeral  Home in Galveston.

Donnie was born June 9, 1978 in San Antonio, Texas. He truly found his calling when he became a Captain. He knew that is what he wanted to be since he was a little boy. He was a man of the outdoors and the open road. He was never happier than when he was riding one of his 3 Harley's with his wife Priscilla. He would tell you that's when he felt "Free"! He worked really hard at what he did, all to provide for his girls, Priscilla and Issy. That's who he did it all for. Above all else, Donnie lived for his family. While he cherished his family, he also built a bond of close friends with whom he considered family in every way that mattered. Richard King and family, Michael Rodrigues and family, Dean Stevens and family, John Mosby, Andrew Fleming and Issac Rodriguez, Steven Alaniz and family, Dennis Hartman and family and many, many, more.

Whether he was leading his crew on the Boat or leading the pack on the highway, he was the heart of the group. He lived life on his own terms and with a very large sense of humor that was all his own. Always       reminding  those that, HE was The Captain!

Donnie is preceded in death by a brother-in-law Robert Douglas "Chico" Sanchez son D.J. Nelson, and his father-in-law Johnny Keith Collins.  Survivors include his magnificent wife Priscilla Stahl and children       Benjamin Shumate, Mariona Negrini, and Isabella "Issy" Stahl; parents Bobby and Claudia Alexander, mother-in-law Mary Lou Collins, brothers-in-law Armando Sanchez, Jason Collins. He also leaves behind a wonderful and dedicated boat crew, his brothers on the water, and a very large circle of friends who he considered family.

Donnie loved to get a sudden reaction "always funny" out of all who knew his humor so in honor of Donnie we believe he would want you to dress as you usually do, because he certainly will be!! As Donnie would say, "don't be offended by my clothes that's just my humorous nature", "I'd prefer you laugh instead of shedding tears."  He hated to see his wife cry, so he always made some great jokes. But you would have to know and understand Donnie to understand his humor!

Loved ones are invited gather, share stories and honor a life that was taken so unexpectantly and sudden. And remember, he lived life at full throttle!!
