Dora Isais Monsibais, a lifelong resident of Galveston Tx., was called to the lord on August 31st, 2026, at the age of 83.
Born on October 9th 1942 in Galveston Tx., Dora was a beloved member of the community and devoted her life to her family, her faith, and her work. A lifelong resident of Galveston, she formed deep and lasting connections with generations of friends, neighbors, students, and colleagues.
Dora was a faithful and beloved member of St. Patrick's Church and also a member of the Damas where her presence, kindness, and devotion touched the lives of many. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she treasured the fellowship and friendships she found within her church family.
She worked at Lipton, was also a valued faculty member at Alamo Elementary school, where she dedicated many years to educating and encouraging her students. She also worked for 17 years and retired from Biglots. She took great pride in her work and in the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of everyone she met. She will be remembered with affection by former students and colleagues alike.
Dora was preceded in death by her parents John and Theresa (Siller) Isais, beloved husband, Francisco Monsibais Jr. , with whom she shared 47 years of marriage, by her sisters Ruth Cruz, Marie Salinas and her brothers Joe Isais and John Isais Jr.
She will be missed by her devoted son, Francisco Monsibais III; daughter-in-law, Krisa Vandegrift Monsibais and beloved granddaughter Samantha Vandegrift, She is also survived by her sisters, Janie Gracia and Frances Sena, along with numerous cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.
A life-long resident, faithful church member, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Dora leaves behind a legacy of love and service that will continue through all those whose lives she touched.
A service will be held at St. Patrick's Church on October 15th at 2:00 PM with a gathering to follow.
She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
