Doris Elaine Belnoske Skelton, beloved wife, mother, Grandmother and friend passed away peacefully at home at Sea Isle, Galveston, Texas, March 3, 2025, surrounded by family and lifelong friends all giving her unconditional love. A meaningful and loved place by Doris and her family. Doris was born January 30, 1948, in Houston, Texas.
Doris lived a life full of love towards others and her community. She was an example of passionate love to her family and friends. Doris is survived by Husband Terry Skelton, Son Michael Skelton, Sister Katherin Rumore, Grandson Jarid Teran, Granddaughters Samantha and Daisy Skelton and several cousins and nieces.
Doris has reunited with her Son John Robert Skelton, Father and Mother, William and Theresa (Ellie) Belnoske and her brothers, John and Richard Belnoske, all rejoicing with Christ Jesus.
Doris was involved both in church and her community and loved being part of the Yard of the Month committee in sea Isle especially after being awarded in the past.
Some of her favorite pastimes included reading (book club) and walking on the beach. often picking up driftwood and shells and others trash to make interesting art and decor. Doris especially took pride in her beautiful grand babies and throughout her life made sure to dedicate time and effort into teaching them about life, taking them to surf camp and made sure they ate their fruits and vegetables.
Her home was full of artwork, shells everywhere, transformed into beautiful pieces of beach life. She loved having family gatherings at the beach house, the more the merrier.
In lieu of flowers and cards and such, the family asks that donations be made to Cancer and Huntington's research facilities.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:30am Friday, March 14, 2025, at Mary Star of The Sea Catholic Church in Jamaica Beach.
