Edith was born on September 14, 1937 in Port Arthur, Texas to Alice and Robert Casey. She was a wonderful mother, Emom, Ei, and servant of Christ.  At a young age Edith moved with her family to Maplewood, Louisiana where she became a lifelong member of Maplewood First Baptist Church. At Maplewood FBC she would serve in many compacities including serving on various committees and most importantly with children and music. Edith served in various choirs for over 40 years which culminated with singing in concerts statewide with the Louisiana Baptist Singing Women. Edith loved and nurtured many babies and became known as the face of the nursery. Outside of church she had a long and successful career as a secretary for Olin Corporation. Edith instilled a legacy of loving Christ, cooking and eating gumbo, reading, and cheering for the Dallas Cowboys as a courageous mother, grandmother, aunt, and dear friend.

Edith was preceded in joining the Lord by her mother, Alice Casey, her father Robert Casey, her sister Cherry Faith Casey Reeves, brother-in-love Allen Thomas Reeves, nephew Casey Allen Reeves, and granddaughter Meredith Macy Hodge (Edith's namesake).

Edith is survived by her son Eric Hodge (Regina), grandson Thomas (Hanah), great granddaughter Meredith Grace Hodge, and great grandson Tate Samuel Hodge as well as two nieces, Mendy Vaughn and Chrissie Book, and many more wonderful nieces and nephews whom she loved.

Please help us celebrate Edith's life as we remember all the laughter, tears, and special moments we all shared with her.
