Mr. Edward Hawkins affectionately called "Hawk" by his family and friends was born November 27 th , 1956 in Lafayette, LA. to the late Mr. Edmond and Audrey Hawkins of Lafayette, LA. He moved to Texas with family and continued his life here. Mr. Edward Hawkins received his reward of eternal rest on Thursday June 11 th , 2020 at 8:08pm at Jennie Sealy Hospital after a long struggle with Covid 19.
Mr. Hawkins attended Galveston Public Schools, and upon graduation he joined the United States Army (Vietnam). When he returned, he continued his education and received several degrees' ; Electrician, Music Engineering, and Auto Mechanic to name a few. Mr. Hawkins was a hard worker all his life; he was a Supervisor at Tubular Services before his passing.
He would help anyone anyway he could, no matter time or day he would be there. He loved the Lord and would encourage others to put the Lord first in any and every step of life. His healing words of support would always be a message from God. The love and passion he had and showed to others as a leader was to always take the next step to offer your fellow brother and sister how God wants you to open your heart and mind.
Mr. Hawkins would open his home to anyone in need. He loved family, cooking, dancing, Trail Rides, cars, fishing on his boat, and riding his motorcycle with his brothers, nephews, son, and best friend. He had a Passion for Cabana Hats, Stacy Adams shoes, and Special Suits (Old School) .
Mr. Hawkins was a member of Jerusalem Baptist Church of Galveston, TX. His love for his family and friends will leave precious memories that will linger in their hearts forever.
Mr. Hawkins is preceded in death by his mother and father Edmond and Audrey Hawkins, his son Reginald Hawkins, his Uncle Joseph Charles, his Aunt Mary Lou Burke.
He leaves to cherish his memory his son Edward Whetstone, daughter Jometra Hawkins Step-kids Dimetra Lyons-Wise (John), Consuella Haskins, Le Tesha Young, and Shacorya Casimere.Siblings, Linda Rowe (Willie), Henry Hawkins (Barbara), and Eric Hawkins (Carolyn). Grandchildren, Daniel Pinesette, Destiny Pinesette, Demyan Pinesette, Diamond Pinesette, Dashaun Pinsette and Juakhy Rhine Casimere. His first and special devoted nephew Willie Rowe Jr (Tracy), Loving and devoted nieces and nephews Marletta Rowe and Tammy Haynes, Eric, Devin, and Jordan Hawkins, Dillon Hartman, Cynthia Morgan and Themesha Batiste. Great Nieces and Nephews, DeShawn Haynes, Christopher Haynes, Andre, Tiffany (his baby girl), and Kamdon Conley, Henry Hawkins Jr, Harold Moore, Diana, Willie III, Aliyah Rowe, Damien Morgan. His Thunder Buddies Mark and Matthew Rowe, Mariah Rowe Loving and devoted Sister-In-Laws Carolyn Hawkins and Lola Moore-Hawkins, and Gloria Rowe- Wilson. Devoted friend Michael Winston and Clarence Dalton.
