Elisa Rivera age 93 of Galveston passed into eternal life Saturday April 1, 2023 surrounded by those she loved dearly at her home in Galveston. Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 am Wednesday April 12, 2023 at St. Patrick Catholic Church. A visitation will be held from 5:00pm until 8:00pm Tuesday April 11, 2023 at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home where a rosary will be recited at 6:30pm. Burial at Calvary Cemetery will take place on Friday.

Elisa was born October 30, 1929 in Melchor Ocampo, N.L., Mexico to Jose T. Ramos and Paula Salinas Ramos. The family immigrated to the U.S. in 1969 moving to Chicago, Illinois. In 1986 the family moved to Galveston where Elisa continued the wonderful life of being a great mother and loving wife. It was in her nature to be an exceptionally good to all of her family. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, knitting and cooking for her family and many friends. She was a longtime, faithful member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. May the lord bless her and keep her.

Preceded in death by her husband Adan Rivera, survivors include daughters Maria A. Rivera and Rosa M. Ramos and husband Jesus; son Alfonso Rivera all of Galveston; grandchildren Coraima Ramos, Natalia Ramos, Eduardo Ramos and Adam Wesley Baker; numerous sisters, brothers, nieces and nephews.

Elisa Rivera, de 93 años, de Galveston, pasó a la vida eterna el sábado 1 de abril de 2023 rodeada de sus seres queridos en su casa de Galveston. El velorio se llevará a cabo de 5:00 p. m. a 8:00 p. m. el martes 11 de abril de 2023 en Carnes Brothers Funeral Home, donde se rezará un rosario a las 6:30 p. m. La misa funeraria se llevará a cabo el miércoles 12 de abril de 2023 a las 10:00 am en la iglesia católica St. Patrick.  El entierro en el cementerio Calvary se llevará a cabo el viernes.

Elisa nació el 30 de octubre de 1929 en Melchor Ocampo, N.L., México de José T. Ramos y Paula Salinas Ramos. La familia emigró a los Estados Unidos en 1969 y se mudó a Chicago, Illinois. En 1986 la familia se mudó a Galveston donde Elisa continuó la maravillosa vida de ser una gran madre y esposa amorosa. Estaba en su naturaleza ser excepcionalmente buena con toda su familia. En su tiempo libre, disfrutaba coser, tejer y cocinar para su familia y muchos amigos. Fue miembro fiel de la Iglesia Católica St. Patrick durante mucho tiempo. Que el señor la bendiga y la guarde.

Precedido en la muerte por su esposo Adán Rivera, los sobrevivientes incluyen a sus hijas María A. Rivera y Rosa M. Ramos y su esposo Jesús Eduardo; hijo Alfonso Rivera todos de Galveston; nietos Coraima Ramos, Natalia Ramos, Eduardo Ramos y Adam Wesley Baker; numerosas hermanas, hermanos, sobrinas y sobrinos.
