GALVESTON- Emma Garcia, 78, passed away peacefully in her home in Galveston, Texas surrounded by her loving family  on Wednesday, July 23, 2025. Funeral services are 11:00am Monday, July 28, 2025, at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Dickinson. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Sunday, from 5:00pm until 8:00pm where a rosary will be recited at 6:30pm.

Emma was born March 21, 1947 in Doctor Arroyo, Nuevo Leon, Mexico to parents Miguel Gonzalez and Maria Guadalupe Bernal Gonzales. She married her husband Gilberto Garcia and together had three daughters.

She spent the majority of her career working in Culinary Services at American National Insurance Company where she worked for over 40 years. Emma was known for her loyalty, kindness, strong work ethic and always helping those in need. She loved and valued her family most and always put them before herself.

Emma was preceded in death by her parents, Miguel Gonzalez and Maria Guadalupe Bernal Gonzales, husband Gilbert Garcia, brothers Guadalupe Gonzales and Baby Hector Gonzales, sisters Maria Del Rosario Garcia, Martha Herrera, Basilia Juarez and Alvina Gonzalez, and son-in-law Rafael Rubalcaba, Jr.

She leaves behind her daughters, Emma M. Posada (Juan), Mary Helen Aquirre (Jose), and Alvina Rubalcaba, sisters Gloria (Gilbert), Francisca Gonzalez (Genaro Perez), brothers Miguel Gonzalez, and Hector Gonzalez (Leonor), grandchildren Beatriz Posada, Michael Gilbert Posada, Rafael Rubalcaba III, Cosme Gabriel Rubalcaba, Adrian Javier Rubalcaba, Citlalli Jacqueline Rubalcaba, Ivan Francisco Rubalcaba, Alexia Aguirre, Julian Aguirre, Lorenzo Aguirre, and Mariano Aguirre.
