Eric Charles Guidry age 56 of Humble died Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at The Corpus Christi Medical Center in Corpus Christi Texas. Funeral services are 6:00pm Thursday, December 12, 2024, at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home with visitation from 3:00pm until 8:00pm. Graveside services with Military Honors are 10:15 am Friday, December 13, 2024, at Houston National Cemetery.

ERIC CHARLES GUIDRY was born on July 1, 1968, in Galveston, Texas to Linda Gale Guidry and Charles Lewis. Having grown up in Galveston, he knew and had many life-long friends. Known to many, Eric acquired the nickname of "Scooterman."

ERIC attended the public schools of Galveston. He played football at both Ball and Hillcrest High Schools. He served in the United States Navy aboard the USS John F. Kennedy, the last conventionally-powered aircraft carrier. Following his Navy career, he attended Alvin College (Texas) and studied Mental Health and at the College of Mainland, for substance abuse, as a counselor for alcohol and drugs. After college, he became a counselor at Bay Area Blvd Facility under his longtime colleague, Robert Scott. His last employment, for approximately 23 years, was in the Chemical Refining Industry.

ERIC "Scooterman" loved barbequing, especially on weekends, along with watching the football games all day. Gumbo was one of his greatest dishes. He said Grandma Rose was the one that taught him everything that he knew about cooking with proficiency.

ERIC always made a great impact on his family and friends. He was kindhearted, caring and trustworthy, going over and beyond to make sure everyone was good. His joking attitude would make you laugh all the time. If you needed advice, he was there. It may not have been what you wanted to hear, but it always came out to be the truth.

ERIC was preceded in death by his mother, Linda Gale Guidry; his uncles, Donald Guidry and Horace Guidry; and his aunt, Phyllis McZeal.

ERIC leaves to cherish loving memories: his wife of 20 years, Marshell Rogers Guidry; his sons, J'Rente Rogers, Perez (Paola) Rogers, Jalal Rogers, and Pierre Rogers; his grandchildren, Santiago Rogers, Ileya Rogers, Noah Rogers, Violette Rogers, Selene Rogers, Aurora Castillo, Wynter Williams, Ariun Rogers and Naomi Rogers; his father, Charles Lewis and stepmother, Linda Lewis; his brothers, Max Lewis and Alex Lewis; uncle, David Guidry and aunt, Denise Guidry; his cousins, Deon Guidry, Diamond McZeal, Fellaniece Richard and Gary Biggers; his cousins Lisa Kalaiti, Rose Camere, and TJune, of Lafayette, Louisiana; and a host of other relatives and friends.
