Francisco "Chico" Hinojosa, Sr. age 93 of Galveston died Sunday, January 23, 2022 at his residence. Funeral services are 6:30pm Wednesday January 26, 2022 at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home in Galveston. Burial will take place in Mexico. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5:00pm until 8:00pm where a vigil will be held at 6:30pm.

Chico was born October 4, 1928 in Melchor Ocampo, N.L., Mexico to Rafael Hinojosa, Sr. and Rosa Pena Hinojosa. He was employed with over 20 years of service and retired from the Union Pacific Railroad. Mr. Hinojosa was a faithful Catholic all his life and exhibited his faith in the way he loved and provided for his family, and in his later years many stray cats he enjoyed caring for. He was a hardworking man that also enjoyed ranching and farming while keeping himself entertained by fixing things in his workshop. He is now at rest with the angels.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife Guadalupe Hinojosa, sister Manuela Hinojosa, and brothers Jose De Los Santos Hinojosa and Rafael Hinojosa, Jr. Survivors include his children Elisa Solis of Galveston; Guadalupe Galvan and husband Horacio of LaMarque; Alfredo Hinojosa of Galveston and Francisco Hinojosa, Jr. and wife Alicia of Texas City; grandchildren Victoria Solis Vu and husband Francis, Edzgar Solis, Jr. and wife Jacqueline, Joaquin Hinojosa and wife Valeria, Francisco Hinojosa, III, Horacio Galvan, III and Juliana Galvan; great grandchild Edzgar Solis, II; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
