Obituary

Fred T. Moeller, age 90, died Tuesday October 13, 2020, in the Clear Brook Crossing Nursing Home in Houston, Texas.

Mr. Moeller, known as Uncle Fred to most, was born on July 4, 1930, in Galveston, Texas. He was always proud that he shared his birthday with his sister, Lucille, and on our Country's Independence Day. He always wore a red, white, and blue shirt on that day to celebrate with his family.

Uncle Fred was predeceased by his parents, as well as by his sisters, Vivian Moeller, Lucille A. Flores and her husband, Ernest (Paza), and Louise Hammons and her husband, Francis. His brother, Walter, also predeceased him. He is survived by loving nieces and nephews, Lucille Gonzalez, Tina Brown and her husband, Ron, Linda Ford, Mary York and her husband, Rannie, Ernestine Millo and her husband, Paul, Fran Roff, Ernest Flores and his wife, Linda, and Joe Flores, as well as many great-nieces and nephews throughout Texas and Georgia.

Uncle Fred was most proud of being a teacher for over 30 years. He received his education in Lafayette, Louisiana, and through various fellowships, earned a Master's Degree in Education. He loved Science and Math, and spoke his English with perfect grammar. He was forever the teacher, correcting his family members if they used the wrong word or spoke incorrect English in conversations. He also spoke fluent Spanish.

He loved to fish and crab off a pier in the Galveston beaches, or in a boat in the bayou or Bays of his beloved Galveston Island. He excelled at tennis and played very competitively with his nephews as they were growing up. He loved classical music and loved to attend the Sunday evening concerts at Menard Park in Galveston with his sister, Lucille, and her family. He always joined in on the family picnics at local parks or on the beaches of Galveston. He will be greatly missed.
