Geraldine (aka Gerry) was born on August 22, 1924 to Jesse and Agnes Drury in Healdton, OK. She grew up during the Great Depression and Dust Bowl era. Despite the challenges of that time, she was quite ambitious in her life. She pursued her passion for style and fashion from an early age. She modeled for various clothing lines and later pursued her career in interior design. She opened and operated Posh Interiors on Galveston Island for many decades. Her design and work have been enjoyed in many of the fine homes and businesses across the Galveston-Houston area. During her career, she established many great lifelong friendships. She and her 2nd husband (Giles Bennett) were active members of the Yacht Club of Galveston Island and various other social organizations. After the passing of Giles, she joined hands with her 3rd husband (William Schaaf). Together, they enjoyed many adventures travelling across the US and internationally.
Her family would like to extend enormous thanks to those who provided care and assistance in her later years. This list includes Catherine Bennett, Elena Jo and Pete Petree (stepdaughters and spouse), Trini Huerta (friend and co-worker), the entire staff and mgmt. team of The Shores @ Clear Lake assisted living facility, her health care-provider (Ivan Napel), and her countless friends within the area.
Her departure is sadly felt by her family and others who loved her. In lieu of flowers, contributions are requested to be directed to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America (https://alzfdn.org)
