Spirit-filled, authentic, loyal, benevolent, and caring are characteristics of Evangelist Henria Sue Hill Bacon. She was a gift to Rose Virginia Clarke and Granville Hill on October 7, 1951, in Galveston, Texas. She was reared to love the Lord and serve Him all the days of her life. She confessed Jesus as her Lord and Saviour while still youthful at First Union Baptist Church where she was baptized. This step of faith would lay a foundation for generations to come. Her parents had no idea who their sweet little girl would grow to become, a Christian woman and an educator that would impact the lives of countless students and members of her community. She was the product of Galveston Public Schools, she was a graduate of Ball High School Class of 1969, the second integrated class to graduate from Ball High School.

After graduation, Evangelist Henria Sue Hill Bacon furthered her education at Lamar University in Beaumont, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Vocational Home Economics. She began her teaching career in Galveston Independent School District in 1973. This dedicated teaching career spanned over 40 years as she taught Home Economics, Hospitality, and Teen parenting. Teaching was her passion and she taught by this motto, inspire as you teach, motivate as you teach, and empower each student as you teach. She gave unconditional love to each student as she enhanced their educational tools for a brighter future. She was a member of Hospitality Educators Association of Texas and Future Homemakers of America.

Later in her adult years she had a desire to seek God on a more intimate level and connecting with a Bible believing church was important to her also. She united with Compton Memorial Church of God In Christ under the divine leadership of Bishop Robert E. Woodard, Jr.  Evangelist Henria Sue Hill Bacon received the baptism of the Holy Ghost and became a devout member of the Church. She boldly stood and proclaimed her favorite scripture Psalm 34:1 " I will bless the Lord at all times his praise shall continually be in my mouth."  She served in many roles in ministry including Compton Caterers, Sunday School, and she was known as the "Queen of Being a Mistress of Ceremony (Emcee) and doing the Sunday Morning Announcements." Her anointed voice and the presence of the Holy Spirit within her would light up a room and you would become on fire and excited even as she spoke. You could feel her words and they would uplift your heart. She carried out God's Great Commission faithfully therefore, she was licensed and ordained as a Missionary Evangelist. In 2004, she received a Certificate in Advanced Leadership graduating Summa Cum Lada( Highest Honors) from Greater Emmanuel Bible Institute, under the Founder Dr. Earline O. Allen.

Continuing her Journey in the Lord, In 2008, Evangelist Henria Sue Hill Bacon followed her cousin Apostle Reginald Pope as he birthed The Carpenter's House Church the place where she would serve and ensure to become what Jesus ordained in Matthew 4:19, fishers of men. She stood as a pillar for over 17 years. She continued her dedicated service unto the Lord.  She was granted a Proclamation for her many years of service and dedication to the church. She continued to serve in many  capacities of the Ministry. She was the Superintendent of Sunday School, she used her gift of teaching to train many on the correct way to teach Sunday School. She was known for having a Spirit of Excellence when it came to teaching others how to teach the Word of God. She was blessed to see the fruit of her labor with many of her students within the church being called into the Ministry  as ministers and even pastors. She was a Prayer Warrior  within the Body of Christ. She would spend untold hours interceding  with Spirit led prayers for others. She loved singing songs of worship and praise unto the Lord, even when her health began to change she never wavered in her prayer life. She  was a woman with many gifts, and she used them all to service the Lord.

Evangelist Henria Sue Hill Bacon enjoyed cooking and sewing. She was a woman who ensured there was order in her home, her church, and her life. As Ruth was a woman who was committed, generous, and unselfish, she cared for her family, church family and her community family tirelessly.  She instilled the importance of having a personal relationship with Christ and serving in the house of the Lord. She raised her children attending church and prayer meetings.

On Thursday, March 13, 2025, our Great Creator knew it was in Evangelist Henria Sue Hill Bacon best interest to come up a little higher and received her eternal life's reward. She fought the good fight, and she kept the faith. Joyfully she was met by her loving parents; her beloved aunt and uncle Hattie and Henry Robinson; sister Connie Hebert, and many other loved ones who preceded her on this side of Heaven.

Left to cherish her memories and carry out what she instilled in them are her loving children,  D'hendre Fisher, Latriche Spiller, and Jamie Bacon; adored grandchildren, Jazmin Spiller, Ebony Spiller, James Willis Jr., and Carter Hampton; precious great-grandchildren Brycen Douglas and Braxton Blake; nieces, nephews, cousins and church family and friends.

Visitation on Saturday, March 22, 2025 from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM, the Celebration of Life Service will be at 11:00 AM both services to be held at Compton Memorial Church of God in Christ 2628 Avenue H, Galveston, TX 77550 burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Galveston under the direction of Carnes Brothers Funeral Home.
