Heriberto "Flaco" Gutierrez passed away Tuesday January 17, 2023, in his home after a brief illness.  He was born in Veracruz, Mexico on March 3, 1952.  Heriberto had been a longtime resident of Galveston for over 50 years.  Heriberto worked in maintenance and construction throughout his life.  In his spare time when not working, he could be found on the beach.

Heriberto is survived by his mother, Manuela Martinez; brother Martin Martinez and his wife Gina; sisters: Yolanda Martinez, Beatriz Rodriguez and her husband Luis, Rosa Martinez Velazquez and her husband Carlos.  He is also survived by his daughter Bertha Gutierrez and his sons Lee and Heriberto Gutierrez Jr. He is survived by his nephews: Jose, Sergio, and Saul Martinez; Adrian, Carlos and Jesus Velazquez and Luis Rodriguez Jr. He is also survived by his nieces: Samantha Martinez Garay, Mariela Martinez and Ariana Rodriguez.
