Hugh Lee Tackett, 66, died October 19, 2024, in Port Bolivar, TX. He was born September 8, 1958, in Abbeville, LA to Garland and Barbara (née Humble) Tackett. Hugh is survived by his brother Steve (Judy) Tackett, his wife Stefanie Tackett and their children Taylor (Nevada) Tackett, Whitney (Jerry Forester) Tackett, Martin (Jana) Thompson, Jr., and Julie (Gordie) Russell and his grandchildren Brentley Hearn, Blakley Tackett, Brooke Tackett, Ashlee (Mark) Jones, Jordan Thompson, Martin "Rocky" Thompson, Cortland Russell, Sofie Russell, and Eva Russell. And his great- grandchildren Emory Jones, Easton Jones, and Tessa Jones.

Hugh moved to Texas as a young child. He worked as a teacher and football coach in Aldine ISD where he won a football state championship in 1990. He continued working for Aldine ISD as the assistant director of transportation, until he was promoted to Director of Transportation for CY-Fair ISD—Telge location. He loved fishing. He would spend all day on the water if he could. He was a terrific cook and enjoyed watching football in his spare time.

There will be a celebration of life service October 26, 2024, at 1 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Crystal Beach, Texas, 1260 HWY 87, Crystal Beach, TX. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to the First Baptist Church in Crystal Beach
