Inez Cantrell Allan

8/19/1936 - 11/13/2024

Inez was born August 19,1936 in Edna, Texas to Mae and James Cantrell. She had 2 Siblings James and Ruth. Inez was preceded in death by her husband Charles G Allan II & by her son Charles G Allan III. Her parents & brother James & her lifelong friend Leona.

In her early 20s she met who would soon become her amazing husband, Charles G Allan II. Charles was a shrimper & commercial fisherman. This made it possible for Inez to reside in Galveston, Texas & Fernandina Beach, Florida, as well as traveling many years on both coasts.

Inez and Charles created a large family whom they both loved deeply. Their Family includes (son)  Charles G. Allan III (grandson) Charles G. Allan IV (great-grandson) Charles G. Allan V "Phin" (great-granddaughter) Maizie Allan (daughter) Charlene Patterson/Brent Patterson (daughter) Mae Allan (grand-daughter) Melissa Fewell/Jason Fewell (great-grandson) Mason Fewell (great-granddaughter) Mia Fewell (daughter) Margaret Foster/Chris Foster (grandson) Jesse Richey (grandson) Matthew Giles (daughter), (grandson) Christopher Laws (great Grandson) GC Laws & many nieces and nephews.

Anyone who knew Inez will remember her one-of-a-kind personality. She was spunky and hilarious but also spoke her mind without hesitation.  If you were part of her family or a close friend, she would have your back like no other. As her kids & grandkids grew, her home was open to everyone and was a place that all of her kids' friends loved to come hang out. Inez would take in people and consider them her own.

Inez enjoyed country music and dancing the jitterbug & loved a good party! She enjoyed going to bingo & most of all playing slot machines. Her husband Charles always joked "she must hate money... because she loves getting' rid of it".

A Serene Hospice, especially Michelle Delgado (aka her favorite daughter). Inez also had a special place in her heart for the Banuelos family, Jeffrey Collins & many other friends.

In remembrance, the family has decided to do a small private gathering. Inez was a Breast Cancer survivor of over 25 years. If anyone would like to make a donation in her memory, please do so to the American Cancer Society or the Galveston Island Humane Society.
