Isidro Mendoza Jr. (Chilin) age 55 of Galveston has gone home to be with The Lord, Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX after a lengthy battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held on Friday June 21, 2024, at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home in Galveston, TX. Visitation will begin at 11-am and funeral will be held at 1-pm with Martin Gaytan officiating. Burial will follow the service at Lakeview Cemetery 3015 57th St. Galveston, TX. Reception to follow after burial. Pallbearers are Bruce Mendoza, Daniel Mendoza, Jerry Nino, Javier Nino, Jeremiah Nino, Angel Zuniga, Juan Francisco Mendoza Jr. (Panchito), and Cleto Yanes. Honoree Pallbearers: Adam McKinlay and Jeremiah Nino Jr.
Chilin was born on June 9,1969 in Galveston, TX to Maria De Los Angeles Mendoza and Isidro Mendoza Sr. Chilin was a Fiberglass Fabricator and Painter along with numerous other skills. He was an incredibly hard worker throughout his life. Chilin cherished his children and grandchildren and loved them much more than they know. He always enjoyed spending time with each of them. He also loved his dog "Ghost" He spent a lot of time with his dog and his chickens. Chilin had a love for life and never missed a good time! He loved all sports especially football. Let's not forget about them, Dallas Cowboys! That was one game he didn't want to miss! It wasn't a party unless he danced all night and gave his "Loud Grito" so that everyone could hear! He had a passion for old school lowrider cars and lowrider bikes and he also loved his many Cadillacs he owned throughout the years. Some might say he enjoyed being in the limelight ! He was always the Life of the Party! Everyone that knew him, knew, the party began when Chilin stepped into the room! Chilin was a fun loving all around good guy and he was a friend to everyone he met. His memories shared will continue to live on in the hearts of all who have known and loved him.
Isidro is preceded in death by his mother Maria De Los Angeles Mendoza and father Isidro Mendoza Sr. of Galveston, niece Bianca Nino-Celaya, Uncle Marvin McIntosh (Uncle Buddy) and a few very close friends Bruce Ochoa, Antonio Delvalle, & Alfonzo Guillen; Survivors left behind with heavy hearts include his children Elaina Ann Mendoza-McKinlay (Adam McKinlay), Bruce Anthony Mendoza (Jaleigh), Daniel Isidro Mendoza (Mya), Jessica Marie Barboza (Diego) of Galveston; 9 beloved grandchildren Alana Christine Soni, Annabella Marie McKinlay, Jahki Coreay McDowell, Jaleah Davine Mendoza, Daniella Isabelle Mendoza, Jacob Isidro Mendoza, Trinity Rose Martinez, Elijah Daniel Martinez & Miranda Marie Martinez; Siblings Lydia Nino-Navarro (Lorenzo Navarro), Juan Francisco Mendoza Sr., Ramon Mendoza (Estefana Mendoza), Luz Muros (Alfredo Muros), Rosalba Mendoza-Caraves (Carlos Caraves), and Luis Mendoza (Bonnie Mendoza) along with extended family Maria Trevino, and Frank Nino; Numerous nieces, nephews, as well as great nieces and great nephews, and cousins along with other family and close friends. To each one he was loved dearly.
