James William 'Billy' Gray, age 66, passed away on December 10th, 2025, at UTMB in Galveston, TX. He was born October 8th, 1959, in Harlingen, TX, the third child of Thomas and LaVerne Gray.

A nearly lifelong resident of Galveston, he owned his plumbing service for over 25 years and was known affectionately as "Plumber Bill" around the island.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his older brother Thomas Rhine Gray, Jr. He is survived by sister Jane Stimac and husband Mike of Langely WA, sister Sandra Armantrout of Galveston, nephew and niece Joseph Gray and Nicole Cooper, both of Galveston, one grandniece and two grandnephews, along with many other friends and relatives who will sadly miss him.

Billy was known for his generosity and kindness, never hesitating to bring a plate to a neighbor on Thanksgiving or dropping everything to help out with car trouble. The family would like to thank the team at the Meridian for helping out in his final months. A celebration of his life will follow at a later date.
