Janie Peralez age 84 of Galveston died Sunday August 2, 2020 at her residence in Galveston. Funeral Mass is 11:00am Friday August 7, 2020 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with visitation beginning at 10:00am. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Carnes Brothers Funeral Home.
Janie was born February 11, 1936 in Galveston, Texas to Quirino Peralez and Maria Ibarra Peralez. She was a longtime member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. She loved to play bingo where she was very lucky. She enjoyed playing many games and spending time with her family who were most important to her. She was an avid Dallas Cowboys Fan and she actually was able to attend her first game this last year in person. She was a big supporter of the Ball High School Tors and could always be found in attendance at the games until her health failed her. She was a loving and kind person who will be missed very much.
Preceded in death by her parents, sister Dolores Esqueda; brothers Julio Peralez, Robert Peralez, Alonzo Peralez and Joe Peralez ; survivors include her daughter, Christina Peralez of Galveston; brother Johnny Peralez of Galveston; grandson Christopher Perry of Galveston; sister Janie Esparza and husband Julio of Texas City; cousin Humberto Marquez; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Pallbearers are Ramiro Silva, Zeke Silva, Joe Esqueda, Robert Peralez, Christopher Perry and Anthony Perry.
