Jerry Wayne Hayes age 48 of Houston died Sunday September 11, 2021 at Brighton Assisted Living. Funeral services are 1:00pm Saturday September 18. 2021 at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home in Galveston, Rev. Arthur Ross officiating. The family will receive visitors at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home on Saturday from 12:00 noon till service time.

Jerry was born July 25, 1973 in Galveston, Texas to Jerry Davis and Barbara Nell Hayes .

Jerry accepted Christ at a young age and was baptized at St Mark's Baptist Church in Hitchcock, TX. He attended Ball High School in Galveston and was a self-employed entrepreneur and enjoyed fashion making music and helping others. Jerry was loved by his family and friends and had a heart of gold and was well known and never met a stranger and showed love and compassion to everyone.

Preceded in death by his parents, survivors include his adoptive father Aaron Josey; daughter; Reca Campbell & husband Clifford, son; Tupac Hayes, God Daughter; Dezaray Cockrell, sister; Doris Hayes, brothers; Donald Ray Hayes, Eric Haynes and Paul Martin, grandchildren; Kaliah McCardell, Ben McCardell, Xavier Irving, Jamal Campbell and Serenity Campbell. Uncles; Floyd Anthony Hayes and Darryl Hayes, aunt; Patricia Lowe, nieces; Doniqua Hayes and Wilniqua Burrell, Whitney Brown, nephews; Dedrick Hayes, Dontavius Hayes, Clarence Hart, Dijion Henderson, Walter Henderson, Walter Brown and Deonza Henderson. A devoted sister-in-law; Michaela Brown, Devoted friends; Geneva Felton and Mattie Osei. And numerous cousins and other family and friends.

The family extends a special thanks to the Good Shepherd Hospice for their special care and Rosalyn Jackson and Geneva Felton and Aretha Felton.
