Hans Peter Johnny Haag (John Crocker) was born in Karlsruhe, Germany on Sunday, September 14, 1947 to Ilona Haag and Myron W.  Proof.  He was later adopted by his stepfather, Lester Crocker. John was born with a twin brother, James, who died at only a few months old. John died in Galveston, Texas at Jennie Sealy Hospital on Thursday, October 17, 2019 at the age of 72.

John served in the United States Army. His was the very first birth date called into service.  He was awarded an Army Commendation Medal for Meritorious Service (2nd Lt.) from April 1970-August 1970.  He was honorably discharged as a 1st Lt.on April 30th. 1975.

John attended OSU and University of Houston Clear Lake Campus in the late 70s where he received his master's degree. In Galveston, John Crocker not only worked at Ball High School for 30 years (1974-2004) but went back for more after retirement by working at O'Connell Senor High School (from 2004 to 2010), where he not only worked but was allowed to represent O'Connell, Galveston, and United States as a teacher working in the sister school in Colombia where he went to assist the teachers in helping other teachers learn how to be better teachers.

Preceded in death by both his mother, father, adoptive father, and his twin brother James, John is the oldest of 4, followed by Gary W. Crocker and wife Donna, Robert Crocker and wife Kandy, and Deborah Buron and husband Ronnie. Nieces and nephews include Jennifer Loehding and spouse, Sharon Dearth and spouse, Brandy Girard, Christopher Buron and spouse and Katie Manning and spouse.

Memorial services are at Grace Episcopal Church in Galveston on Sunday November 3rd at 2 p.m. in the afternoon. A Reception will follow the Celebration of John Crocker's Life at Jenkins Hall at Grace Episcopal Church Galveston. (Around 2.45 pm).
