John Paul Onxley, age 67, of Galveston, Texas passed away Monday April 15, 2024 at his home in Galveston. John was born April 20, 1956 in Houston, Tx to Lee Onxley and Janice Griffin.

John is preceded in death by his mother Janice, stepdad Robert "Daddy Bob" Griffin, and father Lee Onxley, sisters: Sharon Onxley and Debbie Turner.

He is survived by his sister Mary Ann and husband Thomas Maxwell, brother Stephen and wife Paula Onxley, long-time girlfriend Toni Blume. As well as numerous other family members and friends.

John moved back to Galveston over forty years ago and was a member of ILA (Local 20), he worked at the Opera House and was involved many years in the Mardi Gras Krewe.

John was a special person and would help anyone in need, and he loved to barbecue.

A Celebration-of-Life will be held, with details to be announced at a later date.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to everyone for honoring John.
