Janie Joya age 51, of Brownsville, was called to heaven on April 19, 2021. Funeral services are 6:00pm Friday April 23, 2021 at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home. A visitation will also be held on Thursday from 5pm until 8pm at the funeral home where a rosary will be recited at 6:30pm.
Janie loved spending time with friends and family. She enjoyed family get togethers and loved cooking for her boys. In her free time she would often go to the movies or play bingo. She loved to watch movies and novelas. She enjoyed getting pedicures and going for walks. She also enjoyed spending her free time with her granddaughter Ava. She was a very proud mom and grandmother. Janie will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Janie was preceded in death by her mother Clara Ponce; Her brothers, Rolando Altamirano, Rogelio Altamirano, and Federico Regalado. Survivors include her sons, Juan Carlos Joya, Aldo E. Chapa, Daniel A. Chapa, and Esteban M. Obregon. Janie is also survived by her granddaughter Ava Chapa; her siblings; Rudy Altamirano, Leticia Altamirano, Alfredo Regalado and many nieces and nephews.
