Judith Carol Williams, 77, passed away at her home in Galveston, Texas on January 29, 2023. Memorial services are set for 11:00am Saturday, June 10, 2023 at Galveston County Church 6601 FM 2004 Hitchcock, Texas 77563.

Judy was survived by her only child, daughter, Kyra Elliott, also of Galveston, Texas and her husband Dr. Joseph Elliott; Her Grandson Sgt. William Sedberry; Granddaughter Gabrielle Cole and husband Jacoby Cole; her great-grandchildren W. Lane Sedberry, Ashlyn Lane Sedberry, Maya Sedberry, Meliyah Sedberry, William Sedberry, Gary Sedberry, and Maeve Cole; life partner JD Johnson; "adopted" family, Sharon Urtuzuastegui; Brittany Curtis; Austin Matthews; Denise and Steve Sanchez; Renee Potter; Steve Sanchez Jr. and Christian Sanchez; as well as many other family and friends.

Judy was born August 1, 1946 in Miami, Oklahoma. She was an artist. She took art classes at the University of New Mexico branch in Grants, New Mexico. She loved painting with oils, she made Indian pottery inlaid with turquoise and coral, she also designed and made clothing, photo blankets, gift baskets and various other crafts. She and her daughter took those crafts to several craft shows and sold every single thing they took! One year she hand painted Christmas ornaments and sent them to President Clinton at the White House.

Judy did some modeling in her early twenties for a short time, but her creativity took over. She was a visual artist her whole life and then at one point, she began to write. She wrote short stories and she loved a good murder-mystery.

Judy had a kind and charitable heart. She was always doing something for someone else and she did not hesitate to give to someone in need. It never mattered what they needed and even if it was all she had, it was theirs. For many years during the holidays, she would gather a meal and gifts with her daughter, and they would deliver to a family in need. She fostered a special needs toddler as well as a teenager and took in several others.

Judy lived life on her own terms. She was for the underdog. She was erratic, stubborn and wonderful! She was fun! She was loved! She will be missed.
