Kaylee Lynn
Crighton
Sep 20, 2001 — Mar 13, 2020
Seabrook
If you've seen the sun shine glisten upon the water, then you've seen the beauty of our precious Kaylee Lynn Crighton who gained her heavenly wings at the young age of 18 years old on March 13, 2020.
Kaylee was born September 20, 2001 in Wichita, Kansas. When she was 13 years old, her parents made the decision to relocate to Texas. Kaylee was sad to leave her friends. With her caring personality and character, however, new friends were made in no time. Kaylee was a senior at Clear Falls High School in League City, TX. Her determination and drive earned her the distinction of being a member of The National Honor Society and earned the distinction of Magna Cum Laude and she had the intention of studying Marine Biology at Texas A&M.
Whether you knew her as Ka Lei Lei, Kaylee Sue McGillicuddy, Princess or simply Kaylee, you knew you were loved, important to her, never alone and that she would always be there for you. She had a zeal for life, her friends and animals, especially her cat Sebastian. She was witty, smart, kindhearted, and funny and would share these traits with others daily while also volunteering in her community and at the Medical Loan Closet founded by her grandpa in Wichita. She enjoyed thrift store shopping, all in the name of "The Find". Her skate board and surfing were staples to her enjoyment of life. Although Kaylee has left our sight, she will forever remain in our hearts and our thoughts.
Kaylee is preceded in death by her older brother Trevor Crighton and her uncle, Jason Patterson.
Left to cherish her memory and carry on her legacy of love, are her parents Phil and April Gohring; father George Crighton Jr.; brother Tyler Crighton and his wife Bri McNutt; grandparents John and Stephanie Patterson, Rick and Sherry Miller, Lloyd and Elaine Hanna, and Duane and Hazel Crighton; cousins Nicolette Bevan and her husband Trevar, cousin Gavin Patterson; and many other family and friends.
A Celebration of Kaylee's life will be held at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home, 1201 Tremont St. Galveston, TX on Saturday, March 21st at 1:00pm with Rev. Robert Dowdy officiating. The family will begin receiving visitors for the viewing at 11:00am with the service starting at 1:00pm.
