Kevin Wade Batiste, 57 years of age, was born October 21, 1966, in Galveston, Texas to Bertha Allen – Batiste and Herman "Bu" Batiste, Jr. He transitioned to eternal rest on April 2, 2024, at HCA Healthcare Hospital, Tomball, Texas.

He accepted Christ at Wesley Tabernacle United Methodist Church at an early age and later was baptized at St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Galveston, Texas.

Kevin received early education in the Galveston Independent School District, graduating from Ball High School in 1985, where he excelled in football and baseball. He was drafted to the Toronto Blue Jays baseball team in 1985 to 1989. Later traded to the Atlanta Braves. He was also a defensive back for the University of Houston football team. Currently he was umpiring for the Galveston Umpires Association.

He loved sports especially his favorite football team the "Dallas Cowboys." Kevin was a people person who never met a stranger. He was extremely photogenic and loved to take pictures.

Preceding him in death, his maternal grandparents, Juanita Allen, Gus Allen, Jr.; paternal grandparents, Pauline Batiste-Green, Herman Batiste, Sr.; uncles, Gus Allen, III, Walter Allen, and Theodore Batiste.

He is survived by his loving and caring parents, Bertha Allen-Batiste and Herman "Bu" Batiste, Jr.; children Kavin Batiste, Kevin Batiste and Kennadi Batiste; grandchildren, Brandon Brown, Jr., Imarion Campbell, Kaileigh Thomas, and Caileigh Thomas; brother, Troy Batiste (Tahara); sisters, Crystal Butler, Kimberly Thomas; companion, Felicia Flores; aunts, Gloria Allen-Talbert, and Sharon Batiste- Gillins (Curt), great uncles and aunts, cousins, extended family, and friends.
