Larry Lee Hutson, aged 79, passed away peacefully on November 24, 2024. Born on June 1, 1945, in Houston, Texas, to John E. Hutson and Vivian M. Hutson, Larry grew up alongside his brother, James "Jim" Hutson. Preceded in death by his parents, brother, and beloved son, Jay, Larry's legacy lives on in his cherished family and the countless lives he touched.

Larry was the devoted husband of Laura V. Hutson, whom he married in 1976. Together, they built a loving family, and Larry was a deeply admired father to Brian, Cathy, and Jay. As "Papa" to his grandchildren, Christian and Payton, Larry's wisdom and warmth were constants in their lives. He also played a significant role as "Uncle Larry" to Jim's five children—Shane, Natalie, Leah, Amy, and Elizabeth—and was adored by their children as well.

Known for his supportive and positive nature, Larry was a pillar of strength, wisdom, and stability for his family and friends. He stayed in close contact with his childhood, college friends, and cousins until the end, cherishing those lifelong relationships. His presence brought a sense of peace and safety wherever he went. He delighted in sharing meals filled with good, healthy food and wine, savoring the moments spent with loved ones around the table.

Larry earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Human Resource Management from the University of Texas at Austin in 1971. A lifelong Longhorns fan, he proudly supported UT in every sport. Professionally, Larry excelled as a Human Resource Manager in the oil and gas and medical industries before transitioning to a successful career as a Consultant and Career Coach at Lee Hecht Harrison. For over a decade, Larry helped countless individuals navigate career transitions with expertise and compassion, working part-time until shortly before his passing.

Larry will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and the community he impacted so profoundly. A memorial service will be held to celebrate his life; details will be shared with family and friends.
