Laura Lewis Sim passed away Sunday, March 6, 2022 after a lengthy illness. Laura was born in Jacksonville Texas in May 1956 where she attended Jacksonville High School. She relocated to the Galveston area in 1982 where she began her career with the Galveston County Sheriff's Office.  Laura retired in 2012 as a Warrant Division Investigator.  She remained in the Sheriff's Reserve until 2019.  Laura was active in Blue Knights International Law Enforcement Motor Cycle Club and served as the Treasurer of Texas Chapter 31 in Galveston.

Laura was preceded in death by parents Laurice O. and Marguerite B. Lewis and sister Judy Lewis Bumpers.  She is survived by her brother Jay Lewis of Cuero and lifelong "best-friend" Gail Gossett Watson.
