Obituary

Leonard Rodriguez age 75 of Hitchcock died Monday January 8, 2024 at his residence. Funeral Mass is 10:00am Friday January 19, 2024 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church: 10114 Highway 6, Hitchcock, Texas 77563 with Deacon Alvin Lovelady officiating. Burial will follow at Grace Memorial Park: 10708 State Highway 6, Hitchcock, TX 77563

Leonardo "Nayo" was born July 26, 1948 in Robstown, Texas to Jesus Rodriguez and Juanita Martinez Rodriguez.  While in the 7th grade his father passed away and he had to quit school to help support his family. He began working on a shrimp boat in Seadrift, Texas as his first full time job at the age of 12. He was a Foreman/ Pipefitter Supervisor employed with Brown and Root and then McGowen Construction for many years. He enjoyed fishing, playing pool and even though it was not his best attribute he enjoyed barbecuing: and his family just enjoyed the time they were blessed to spend with him. He had a heart bigger than Texas and was always available to lend a helping hand when someone was in need. His many friends and family will always be grateful for his kindness and generosity.

Preceded in death by his parents Jesus and Juanita Rodriguez, his first wife Linda Sue Rodriguez, son Leonard Rene Rodriguez, daughter in law Sonia Rodriguez and brother Jose Rodriguez; brother in laws Victor Morales and Joe Montez; survivors include his wife Elma Anzaldua Rodriguez of Hitchcock; sons Ronald Edward Rodriguez and wife Dawn Rodriguez, and Adam Wayne Rodriguez; Cedric Farmer and Zachary Farmer; sisters Ignacia "Nacha" Morales and Dalia Montez; brothers Antonio Rodriguez and wife Mary, David Rodriguez and wife Rebecca , Porfilio "Pio" Rodriguez and wife Dolores and Rene Rodriguez and wife Odilia;  grandchildren Jessica Taft, Desiree Rodriguez, Rebecca Rodriguez, Sabrina Rodriguez, Emma Linda Rodriguez, Juanita Rodriguez, Leonard Anthony Rodriguez, Rene Cervantez and Nancy Cervantez; Savina Farmer; great grandchildren Aniyah Rodriguez, Josiah Ring, Oliver Ring, Olivia Taft, Oaklynn Taft, Ophelia Taft, Elijah Ordonez,  Leonard Anthony Rodriguez Jr., Felicity Rodriguez, Joseph Rodriguez, Kevin Rodriguez, Laylana Rodriguez, Joshua Feast, Jr., Jaide Rodriguez, Christina Wesley, Andrea Lopez and Avaia Cervantez.
