Leticia Hernandez, 72, of Galveston, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Funeral Mass is 10:00am Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at St. Patrick Catholic Church with a visitation to begin at 9:00am. Entombment will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum in Galveston under the direction of Carnes Brothers Funeral Home.

Born in Weslaco, Texas, on January 29, 1953, to Jose and Maria (Castillo) Hernandez,

Leticia—affectionately known as "Leti"—moved with her mother and brother, Hector, to

Galveston to receive the medical care she needed to thrive. What began as a temporary

move became a lifelong home filled with love, community, and family.

In Galveston, her mother later met and married Augustine Almanza, and the family grew to

include three more children: Margaret, Armando, and Yolanda. The Almanza household was

rich with laughter, her mother's legendary cooking, and the kind of warmth and love that would

define their family for generations.

Throughout her life, Leticia faced physical challenges with extraordinary strength, courage,

and grace. She devoted many years of service to Goodwill Industries, where her dedication,

kindness, and gentle humor earned her the respect and affection of all who knew her. She made many friends there, including Richard Dominguez, with whom she shared a special bond and friendship.

Known for her generous heart and unwavering loyalty, Leticia found immense joy in her family and in the timeless music she loved—especially the timeless songs of Elvis and The Beatles. Leticia was cared for tenderly by her devoted mother and was deeply loved by her entire family. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her radiant smile, her quick wit, and her steadfast faith.

Leticia is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Maria and Augustine Almanza. She is

survived by her siblings: Hector Hernandez (Sarah), Margaret Dannenmaier (Bill), Armando Almanza (Tracy), and Yolanda Quintanilla (Alonso); nieces Margo and Jessica; nephews Alonso III, Brandon, Adam, Aaron, Gabriel, and Andrew; a grandniece and grandnephews who will forever hold her close in their hearts.

The family would like to thank Heritage Hospice and the wonderful staff at Mont Belvieu Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center for the great care Leticia received during her final days.

Her family takes comfort in knowing that she is now at peace, embraced by the Lord and

surrounded by eternal love.
