Linda Ann Anzaldua, 66, of Galveston, Texas, passed away on February 8, 2026, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Born on October 24, 1959, in Galveston, Texas to Benita Perez and Abelardo Anzaldua, Linda was a proud B.O.I through and through.

A graduate of Ball High School, Class of 1978, Linda went on to build a long and dedicated career at UTMB, where she served in the School of Medicine's Registrar's Office. Over her 27 years of service, she became known for her reliability, kindness, and the steady presence she offered to colleagues and students alike. After nearly three decades of commitment, she retired with the respect and affection of all who worked alongside her.

For the last ten years, Linda shared her life with her companion and lifelong childhood friend, Mario "ZMan" Zepeda. She was a devoted mother to Stephanie Ann Jaramillo (Jason), Cynthia Lynn Jaramillo, and Thomas Quesne Pheanis, and a proud grandmother to Marcus Godwin, Andrew Smith, Aysia Alaniz, Kalli Reyes, Elena Reyes, Zain Reyes, Olivia Pheanis, Ethan Pheanis, and a soon to arrive great granddaughter. She was also a loving bonus grandmother to Mariah, Matthew, Katrina, and Dazzyle. Family was the center of Linda's world. Her children and grandchildren were her greatest joy, the reason she pushed through every challenge and the heartbeat of her everyday life. Everything she did, she did for them.

Linda was known to many through her years working at Mary's and Gloria's Lounge, where she formed countless friendships. Whether you were a regular or a first-time visitor, you were always greeted by her warm smile and welcoming spirit. Her presence made the place feel like home to so many.

She loved the simple, joyful things in life, the beach, where she felt most at peace; turtles, which brought her endless delight and filled her home; and any Sunday spent watching the Dallas Cowboys. A loyal fan, she never missed a chance to cheer on her team or proudly wear her Cowboys colors. She also loved a good BBQ or crawfish boil, especially when shared with family and friends. For Linda, those meals weren't just food, they were moments of connection, laughter, and togetherness.

At her core, Linda was a free spirit with a gentle soul and a deep love for life's natural beauty. Her warmth, easygoing nature, and ability to make everyone feel welcome were just a few of the qualities that made her unforgettable.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents, grandmother, Herlinda Anzaldua "Mommy", her Padrino Joe Gonzales, her brother Enrique "Lupe" Garza, and her sister-in-law Rosa Linda Gonzales. She is survived by her Madrina Carmen Gonzales, her siblings Emma "Boo" Malmstrom, Abel Anzaldua, Silvia Maxwell, Andy Gonzales, Daniel Gonzales, Julie Gonzales, Sophie Gonzales, Maria Hernandez, Benita Betancourt and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and her chosen sister Virginia Morales. She carried the warmth of her family with her throughout her life.

Services will be held at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home in Galveston, Texas, on Friday February 20, 2026. Visitation will begin at 5pm and services will start at 6pm. A celebration of life will be on Saturday, February 21, 2026, from 1pm to 4pm at Gloria's Lounge on 42nd Ave S.
