Manuel Anselmo Fuentes Rodriguez, age 57, of Galveston, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at UTMB League City.

Manuel was born on September 14, 1968, in China, Nuevo León, Mexico. He later made his home in Galveston, where he attended Ball High School. Throughout his life, Manuel had a deep love for music and shared his talent by playing in various bands.

Manuel was known for his happy spirit and great sense of humor. He had a way of making people laugh and feel at ease, often bringing light and joy to any room he entered. He was a great friend to many—always available, willing to lend a hand, and someone others could count on. His kindness, laughter, and genuine nature left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

He is survived by his mother, Maria Rodriguez; his son, Manuel Fuentes, Jr.; his daughter, Kendra Camila Fuentes; his brother, Homero Guajardo; his brother-in-law, Rene Vela; and his nephew, Rene Vela, Jr.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 1, 2026, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Carnes Brothers Funeral Home of Galveston. The family will receive visitors on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with a rosary to be recited at 6:30 p.m.

Manuel will be remembered for his love of music, his joyful spirit, his sense of humor, and the many friendships he built throughout his life.
